macOS blocks Frame Record from opening. What should I do?

After trying to open it once, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. View the illustrated guide

Windows shows an installation warning. What should I do?

Confirm that the setup came from framerecord.com, then right-click the EXE → Properties → General → Unblock if that option appears. With SmartScreen, choose More info → Run anyway. If Windows says that part of the app was blocked, open Windows Security → App & browser control → Smart App Control, then select Off. Do not change this setting on a work or managed PC.

Which systems are compatible with Frame Record?

Frame Record runs on macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel, and on Windows 11 x64. Download the DMG for Mac or the EXE setup for Windows.

Are my videos uploaded to the cloud?

No. On Mac and Windows, recordings, clicks and exports are processed directly on your computer.

Can I edit automatic zooms?

Yes. Change their position, duration, intensity and focal point, or add your own manually.

Can I edit videos inside Frame Record?

Yes. The non-destructive timeline lets you split and remove sections, insert multiple videos, move and resize text, images and stickers, blur sensitive areas, add music or voice-over, fine-tune zooms and apply unlimited fades, flashes, zooms, blurs and wipe transitions.

Which formats can I export?

Frame Record exports MP4 videos in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1, from 720p up to Ultra HD 4K.

How do I record my screen on Mac or Windows?

In Frame Record, choose Entire Screen, Window or Area, select video quality and audio, then start recording. You can trim the video, edit zooms and export an MP4 afterward.

Can I record one window or a selected area?

Yes. On Mac and Windows, Frame Record can capture your entire display, one specific app window or an area you draw with the pointer.

Which license should I choose?

The monthly plan is €9.90 and can be canceled anytime. The lifetime license is a single €99 payment. Either way, one account unlocks Frame Record Pro on Mac and Windows.

INSTALLING ON MAC

Install Frame Record in 2 minutes.

Follow these four steps the first time you open the app. You will only need to approve it once.

INSTALLING ON WINDOWS

Install Frame Record on Windows.

The setup installs for your Windows user account. Administrator mode is not normally required.

    Download the setup

    Click Download for Windows and save Frame Record Setup.exe from framerecord.com.

  2. 2
    Unblock the file if offered

    Right-click the EXE → Properties → General → tick Unblock, then Apply. If the option is absent, continue.

  3. 3
    Run the installer

    Double-click the EXE. If SmartScreen appears, choose More info → Run anyway, then Install.

  4. 4
    Open Frame Record and sign in

    Launch the app from the Start menu and use your Frame Record account. One Pro license covers Mac and Windows.

Before unblocking or running the file, confirm that its download address starts with https://api.framerecord.com/ and that you reached it from framerecord.com.

Only if Windows says that part of the app was blocked: open Windows Security → App & browser control → Smart App Control, then select Off. Close and reopen Frame Record before retrying. This lowers PC protection; do not change it on a work or managed device — contact IT instead.
