Choose resolution and frame rate
Use 60 fps for fast games. Record at the source or publishing resolution; artificial upscaling increases render time and file size without creating real detail.
Reduce the effect on game performance
Hardware encoding reduces CPU work when a compatible encoder is available. Leave performance headroom, close unnecessary tasks and test a demanding scene before a long session.
Mix game sound and commentary
Enable system audio for the game and microphone for narration. Headphones prevent speaker sound from returning through the mic. Check synchronization on a short sample.
Reduce file size after capture
Remove inactive sections and choose an export that matches the destination. Frame Record’s H.264 output balances visual detail, rendering time and file size.
