System audio vs microphone
System audio is the sound produced by Windows and its applications. The microphone captures your voice and surroundings. Enable both for narrated tutorials, or keep only internal audio for an app demonstration.
Prepare Windows 11 audio settings
Open Settings → System → Sound, select the correct microphone and check its input level. Close apps that may play notifications. In Frame Record, enable System Audio and Microphone independently for the result you need.
Prevent echo and clipping
Use headphones when recording microphone and system audio together. Keep a stable microphone distance and avoid excessive input gain. A short test quickly reveals echo, background noise or a silent source.
Record and pause the capture
Start only when audio sources and the target window are ready. Pause to interrupt the presentation without creating several projects; paused time should not appear in the final edit.
Review audio after export
Listen to the beginning, a section with a transition and the ending. Check voice-to-picture synchronization and review the file with headphones. Keep the project until the published video is approved.
